On the 5th February ICFAR hosted a one-day research symposium with screenings, curated by Research Fellow Steven Ball of the British Artists’ Film and Video Study Collection. The event examined Australian artists’ moving image practice in relation to history and the archive and was connected both to BAFVSC's ongoing research into archive and the moving image, and to the curatoral project Figuring Landscapes, which includes work by the visiting presenters. Presenting speakers included visiting Australian artists, academics and writers: Virginia Hilyard, John Conomos, John Gillies, Lyndal Jones.
