After Lethaby

After Lethaby, an audio-visual performance by Steven Ball and Martin Blažíček

6pm, Wednesday 20 May 2009, G12 Conference Room, Central St Martins, Southampton Row

Part of the British Artists' Film and Video Study Collection's series of expanded cinema events.

For five days Ball and Blažíček will capture moving image, still image and audio material around and about Central St Martins’s Lethaby building.  They will be concerned with interrogating a range of spatial, historical and other phenomena of the space and its use.  The material will be developed into a one-off live audio-visual performance conceived specifically for this event at this site.  The exact nature of the work will be determined during its development, which will be documented over the days preceding the performance on the After Lethaby blog.

Martin Blažíček is an artist filmmaker, currently a PhD student at Film Academy of Performing Arts Prague (FAMU), Czech Republic, specializing in audio-visual performance research, and International Centre for Fine Art Research (ICFAR) UAL visiting Spring Fellow.  Steven Ball is an artist and Research Fellow at Central St Martins attached to the British Artists’ Film and Video Study Collection.
